Goddess Temple Canada

The Goddess Temple and Temple Gardens are under construction and will be places of sanctuary and meditation for women and men of all faiths who accept the feminine divine into their lives. The Temple is dedicated to the Goddess in all of Her aspects.

The Temple is a zone of quiet, peace and sanctuary. The Temple Melissa (she who looks after the Temple while it is open) can help with grounding and clearing so as to help your experience in the Temple be one of serenity. The Temple Gardens are for contemplation and do include aspects of the masculine divine.

The Goddess Temple and Temple Gardens will be built and run by Sherry Brown and Janet McCulloch, who both live and work on the property. Please visit this site often for updates and for the announcement of the opening of the Temple.

On a trip to Glastonbury, Somerset in 2007, Janet visited the Goddess Temple, Chalice Well Gardens, The White Spring and the Tor. The days in Glastonbury were spent in contemplation and meditation, walking the ancient sites, and visiting with the town folk.

On the last day of Janet's visit to the Goddess Temple, she ask the Goddess of Avalon for a personal favour. As a response, Janet was ask to build a Goddess Temple in Canada.

This Temple is a realization of that dream.

Donations

The Goddess Temple Canada will gratefully accept donations of building materials including stone, lumber and fencing and garden materials of seeds, plants and rockery. The Temple Gardens will be herbicide and pesticide free and we are striving to use as many native plant species as possible.

From Janet

Humans have lost the essential connection with the natural world that our ancestors recognized and maintained. There is a desperate need at this time for a return to ancient spiritual traditions of our sacred connection to earth and sky. We must strive to re-learn the principals of balance in life and to understand how the materialistic excesses of the modern world have thrown the balance out of alignment.

With enlightened vision, we must see the Earth's suffering and heal by restoring the balance through love, compassion, and guardianship. Humans have come to take for granted the economic prosperity , technology and unlimited natural resources that have been exploited as a "right" and a privilege. But, these blessings have not been used responsibly for the good of our planet and the life it supports.

The human race urgently needs to face up to a new age that will not support continued domination over nature. The mass of humanity must relinquish its materialistic relationship with Mother Earth to survive the crisis of a world no longer willing to suffer the aggression.

My contribution to this end is to build a Temple for all people to come to for sanctuary and meditation. To be still and listen to what the Earth is telling us is the beginning of this journey.
